This is the fourth and final movement of a piece I began writing in graduate school for Pierrot ensemble. The piece tells the story of a young man who leaves home to go on an adventure. The fourth movement begins with a driving force of determination as the protagonist proceeds up the mountain. The intensity builds as the journey becomes more difficult before eventually reaching a breaking point. Lastly, the protagonist finds the determination to carry on and finish the journey, concluding with a reflection on the journey as a whole.
